I Lost My Poem

Some people think that writing poetry is easy,
But let me tell you, it is hardly breezy.
A torrential storm of imagination,
Or a minuscule spark of jubilation.
Poetry is smooth and supple like a wave.
Poetry can be deep and dark as a cave.
Flowing, Tumbling, Over the falls,
Then settling down again between four walls.
But don’t let writing poetry trip you all up.
Just go where the poem goes, and with a little luck,
You won’t lose your poem,
And it won’t lose you.
