If Love Be Fair

If love be fair how fare is love?
A stormy sea, a dragons bite,
Pastel like breezes and a dove,
Forbidden though or smell or sight.
Is love the wind, is love the sky?
It can’t be bought for all the world
Nor cast aside by those too shy.
But stands out proud like flags unfurled,
And blares like trumpets on the air.
What is this feeling burning red,
Or pink with blush on thy face fair,
That leaves me standing, my sins shed.

It’s not the moons, its not the stars,
This love we share is only ours.
