"Aquatecha is a unique group of musicians who have created a new phase in techno music. The style is techno-rock-jazz. A fluid blend of jazz, rock, and techno that can take the listener to unexplored depths of music and feeling."

A Breif History of Aquatecha

Aquatecha was started in 2004 by Sterling Silver and Dezlor. Originally called "Aquatica" in tribute of METALLICA, Sterling and Dezlor started out by playing drums on the water. By making different shapes with their hands, they made some unique music. They thought it would be fun and interesting to make "real" music with "water-drum" qualities. Both of them played other musical instruments: Sterling played the Piano/Keyboard and Dezlor had picked up the guitar a few years before. No sooner had they begun to play together did they discover a new musical style that neither of them had heard before. This new style took techno music, mixed it with heavy metal/rock guitar, and added in the versatility of jazz/improvisation for spice and made a new, and intricut music style.

After making what would be their first song, Dezlor and Sterling Silver realized that they lacked a beat in their music and started looking for a drummer. Both Dezlor and Sterling Silver attended the same choir class at their school, and it is this class that they met STIX. They made their first song entitled "New Dimension" with Anthony on bass which was their first delve into their talent and the new style they had developed: techno-rock-jazz. Originally the song took after many jazz/techno pieces and was a complete instrumental. Anthony soon left the band after their first three or four months. Aquatecha was then joined by Boobah on rhythm guitar. Boobah soon showed his awesome talent for catchy riffs and poetic rhythm as he became a solid part of the Aquatecha experience.

Aquatecha was joined by Tyranius on the Bass in early 2005. A friend of Dezlor's, Tyranius had picked up the bass not too long before he joined the band, but he has helped to add onto Aquatecha's style since Anthony's departure. "Now that Tyranius and Boobah have joined the band, our style has developed even further, and we have actually put lyrics to some songs. Now our music is becoming even more techno-rock-jazz than it was before."

Now in 2006 Aquatecha is planning out for the recording of their debut album, projected to be done and out by the summer or fall of 2006. Eventhough Sterling has gone off to college, the band is still communicating and keeping the ties of music strong.
